Our story

Made in New Jersey, start to finish

Every piece is made by hand, one at a time, in the same shop where the first one was made.

Arbor & Co. origins — our first workshop

Origins

It started
in the garage

Arbor & Co. started in a two-car garage in New Jersey with a table saw, a few slabs of walnut, and a lot of ruined resin pours. The first board went to family. Then friends asked for one. Then their friends did.

Every board, plaque, and coaster is still made in one shop, by hand, one at a time. Before we cut anything, we’ll ask who it’s for, what your table looks like, and exactly what you want engraved — it’s much easier to get it right before the resin goes in.

Our process

From raw timber to your table

Every piece goes through the same three stages. None of them can be rushed.

01

Sourcing

We buy live-edge walnut slabs from hardwood suppliers in the Northeast and pick each one by hand. If a plank has a crack, a twist, or boring grain, it doesn't come home with us.

02

The pour

We mix the pigment for your color, pour the resin in stages, and let it cure for several days. The formulation is food-safe and UV-stable, so the color you pick is the color it stays.

03

The finish

Each piece gets sanded through six grits, then coated with food-safe hardwax oil and buffed by hand between coats. It ends up smooth, matte, and easy to clean.

Hand-selected walnut challah board

Hand-picked walnut

We pick every slab ourselves — no two boards share the same grain.

Resin colors

Food-safe finish

Hardwax oil, safe for direct contact with food.
